Roof started

They started putting on the roof today.  Looks like it will go quickly. Unfortunately the detached garage remodel hasn’t been started yet, so they’ll have to come back to roof that.  Fire Defense is finishing up. The framers should frame the extra room and bathroom in the basement tomorrow.  Electricians have been gone for the last two days (maybe waiting for it to dry up), but I think they were there today getting the main power feed hooked up.  Conduit was added down the driveway and across the neighbor’s driveway, which should be better than direct bury cable.  Phone will also go up the conduit and we added conduit for power and CAT 5 to the gate.  Gas is a separate trench. We also got some road base laid down on the driveway so hopefully mud won’t be such a problem in the future.

Electrical and gas hookups, roofing starting

They started the trench for the gas line and power line on Monday, but the gas line crossing my neighbors drive wasn’t marked so they couldn’t finished. Utility locator service was back out this morning marking it and the backhoe is finishing up. Our electrician will need to be onsite to finish the hookups along with Xcel. I had to coordinate with Xcel and the neighbors to get an easement across the neighbor’s driveway. Xcel also has to do the gas hookup, but they are a few weeks out.

The driveway has been a muddy mess. We should have gotten some crushed rock delivered sooner, but its drying out now so we’ll put some crushed rock down now.

We are now finishing an extra room and bathroom in the basement. The framers will come out today and frame it, then the electricians, plumbers, HVAC can finish up just in time. I’m glad we decided to do this now—it will be much easier than later.

Painters will finish up the fascia trim today and roofing materials are being delivered. Fire Sprinklers should be finished up today or tomorrow—those are only inspected by the fire department.

Insulation could start next week, and drywall right after that. We could be ready for hardwood floors in 3-4 weeks and then paint. Gary from BDM was out yesterday measuring for interior doors. Things are moving along!
