Robert Orthman, the surveyor, staked out all the corners of the new foundation and property lines. We enjoyed walking through the "future rooms".

My family and I showed up at 7:15 am to see the house torn down and it was already half down when we arrived. Apparently Harold (the excavator) showed up 1/2 hour early early. It was amazing to watch the tractor (a track driven excavator) crunch a refrigerator like a tin can. It took the better part of the day to finish loading every9thing into trucks (4 large semi-truck style dump trucks making runs to the dump), including a large number of huge juniper bushes, Russian olive trees and a couple of pine trees. It turned out that the water line wasn't even an issue. He just plucked the concrete wall with his tractor and then quickly repaired the water line while it was running. The Port-o-potty delivered, but the neighbors want it moved to a different location since it is at the entrance to their driveway (I don't blame them). The site looks so much bigger now. With the bushes and trees gone the views are even better than before.
