Walls complete and waterproofed
Today, July 12th they waterproofed the outside (thick black tar like substance) of the foundation walls. They also started putting in the ejector pit and drainage pipes in the foundation floor.
I noticed that there were four spots or so where the concrete forms had partially collapsed so the concrete came down to the ground. Iām sure Doug would have noticed as well. I left Doug a message. I assume they will dig underneath these areas to establish the 8ā void or hammer the concrete away.
They tried to pickup the forms on Monday, July 10th, but it was a muddy mess from raining all weekend. They ended up picking them up on Tuesday, July 11th.
The basement walls were poured and finished up last Friday, July 7th. They were pouring well into the evening. Good thing they finished since it rained all of Saturday and Sunday. Looks like dangerous work as guys walk along the top of the 11ā high forms holding the concrete pumper hose. They also put in some type of hose to vibrate the concrete. One guy walks along and has some device calibrated to the proper height of the top of the foundation (as set by the surveyor) and other guys smooth it out shoveling excess concrete.
They poured all the window wells but one, which is good since it allows easier access in and out of the house. They will pour it when the pour the floor.
