They finished digging the foundation. The hole is huge. The pile of dirt is enormous—it would be tough to find room for it on a smaller lot. The kids enjoyed playing in the hole. Doug said the dirt was really bad (expansive). I said that I do not want to cut corners and if we need to spend more money to backfill with better dirt, let's do it. The engineer from soils engineering firm (Scott Cox and Assoc) will be out Monday to inspect the holes and dirt and can advise us then. Luckily, the neighbor wants extra dirt for a berm to that will help with the hauling costs; I’m just waiting on him to get county approval for it which is required for any grading (under 500 yards in a 2 weeks site plan waiver review).
