5/25/2006- Met with Doug Elting of Colt Construction again and decided to hire him. I and very happy about this decision so far. He's already ready to knock the house down. It would have taken me a month of constant worry and planning to get to this stage if I was the GC. Little things like how to shut off the water (I thought I needed to drain the 3,000 gallon cistern; Doug said no problem, the plumber will just freeze the line.) As organized as I have been there is no substitute for someone that knows his crew and knows what to expect.
