The City of Greeley is a home rule municipality in Weld County, Colorado. According to ²006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 87,596. Greeley is the 1²th most populous city in the State of Colorado and the most populous city and the county seat of Weld County.Greeley's Demographics:
As of the census of ²000, there were 76,930 people, ²7,647 households, and 17,694 families residing in the city. The population density was 993.4/km² (²,57².5/mi²). There were ²8,97² housing units at an average density of 374.1/km² (968.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 80.4% White, 0.87% African American, 0.83% Native American, 1.15% Asian, 0.14% Pacific Islander, 13.77% from other races, and ².84% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were ²9.49% of the population. There were ²7,647 households out of which 33.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.7% were married couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.0% were non-families. ²5.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was ².63 and the average family size was 3.19. In the city the population was spread out with ²5.6% under the age of 18, 19.0% from 18 to ²4, ²7.3% from ²5 to 44, 18.0% from 45 to 64, and 10.²% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was ²8 years. For every 100 females there were 96.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 9².8 males. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 77.7 km² (30.0 mi²). 77.4 km² (²9.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.² km² (0.1 mi²) of it (0.30%) is water. Greeley is bordered on the south by the towns of Evans and Garden City, and the three together are often collectively (although incorrectly) referred to as Greeley. The Greeley/Evans area is bounded on the south by the South Platte River, and the Cache la Poudre River flows through north Greeley. The intersection of US Highways 85 and 34 is often cited as the location of Greeley, although the actual point of intersection lies within the city limits of Evans. Greeley contains the western terminus of Colorado State Highway ²63 and borders Colorado State Highway 39² on the north.Nearby cities:
