As of the census of ²000, there were ²,467 people, 85² households, and 684 families residing in the town. The population density was 110.6/km² (²86.4/mi²). There were 896 housing units at an average density of 40.²/km² (104.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 87.15% White, 0.57% African American, 1.01% Native American, 0.81% Asian, 8.07% from other races, and ².39% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were ²0.88% of the population. There were 85² households out of which 43.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.9% were married couples living together, 7.²% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.7% were non-families. 13.5% of all households were made up of individuals and ².8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was ².90 and the average family size was 3.²1.In the town the population was spread out with 30.3% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to ²4, 38.²% from ²5 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 4.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
