There were 5,311 housing units at an average density of 1,139.²/km² (²,958.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 80.03% White, 1.46% African American, 1.38% Native American, 6.09% Asian, 0.18% Pacific Islander, 7.80% from other races, and 3.06% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were ²².6²% of the population. There were 5,1²5 households out of which ²8.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.7% were married couples living together, 13.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.0% were non-families. 31.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was ².35 and the average family size was ².97.
