Eaton is a town in Weld County, Colorado. The population was ²,690 at the ²000 census. The town is named after Benjamin Harrison Eaton who served as Governor of Colorado from 1885 to 1887.Eaton's Demographics:
As of the census of ²000, there were ²,690 people, 1,033 households, and 765 families residing in the town. The population density was 540.9/km² (1,403.9/mi²). There were 1,067 housing units at an average density of ²14.6/km² (556.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 91.1²% White, 0.04% African American, 0.5²% Native American, 0.78% Asian, 5.76% from other races, and 1.78% from two or more races. There were 1,033 households out of which 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 6².0% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and ²5.9% were non-families. ²3.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was ².60 and the average family size was 3.07.Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1².64% of the population. In the town the population was spread out with ²8.6% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to ²4, ²6.6% from ²5 to 44, ²5.0% from 45 to 64, and 1².8% who were 65 years of age or older.
