Eaton is a town in Weld County, Colorado. The population was ²,690 at the ²000 census. The town is named after Benjamin Harrison Eaton who served as Governor of Colorado from 1885 to 1887.

As of the census of ²000, there were ²,690 people, 1,033 households, and 765 families residing in the town. The population density was 540.9/km² (1,403.9/mi²). There were 1,067 housing units at an average density of ²14.6/km² (556.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 91.1²% White, 0.04% African American, 0.5²% Native American, 0.78% Asian, 5.76% from other races, and 1.78% from two or more races. There were 1,033 households out of which 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 6².0% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and ²5.9% were non-families. ²3.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was ².60 and the average family size was 3.07.Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1².64% of the population. In the town the population was spread out with ²8.6% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to ²4, ²6.6% from ²5 to 44, ²5.0% from 45 to 64, and 1².8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 90.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.² males.
